Sir Peter Paul Rubens, 1577-1640, was a Flemish Baroque painter. Rubens made his name as a draughtsman and painter, and was a huge name to come from the Flemish Baroque art school. His mastery of the Baroque style was mesmerizing across several categories in the art world, making great use of color, sensuality and movement. Some of the most underappreciated Rubens works were landscapes, which were done later in his career. The most notable Rubens artworks paintings are Portrait of a Young Scholar, The Fall of Phaeton, Madonna on Floral Wreath, Descent from the Cross and The Fall of Man. Rubens also served as a court painter for several high profile names like the Archduke of Austria and Albert VII.
